Pictured here is the sole is the new Adapt-Tech sole. It will adapt to your needs whether it is putting power to the pedals or scrambling up an un-ridable section of the trail.

The sole will flex a bit in front of the cleat, but from the cleat back it's stiff for power transfer. 

The white that you see is the Innegra fiber. 

It's still a durable  Vibram sole, but everything that is not absolutely needed, is cut away to save weight. 

 Carbon / Innegra sole and a full length ultra durable Vibram sole. Same stiff sole as the performance road shoes.

The pair in the picture is the older MTB model upper. The new one uses the Oracle upper with a Carbon / Innegra sole and a full length ultra durable Vibram sole.
